Hizb 46
< random >
And indeed, Jonah was among the messengers. 139 When he ran away to a ship completely laden, 140 Then lots were drawn and he became of those who were pushed into the sea. 141 The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.) 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 he would certainly have remained in its belly till the Day of Resurrection. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 and caused a creeping plant to grow over him [out of the barren soil]. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 And they believed; so We permitted them to enjoy (their life) for a while. 148 Now ask them if their Lord has daughters, and they sons? 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Behold, it is one of their fabrications that they say: 151 "Allah has begotten off spring or children (i.e. angels are the daughters of Allah)?" And, verily, they are liars! 152 Has He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What ails you that you judge in such a wise? 154 Will you not then reflect? 155 “Or do you have some clear proof?” 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 And they imagine kinship between him and the jinn, whereas the jinn know well that they will be brought before (Him). 158 God is too glorious to be described as they describe Him 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 So surely you and what you worship, 161 Can lead (any) into temptation concerning Allah, 162 Save him Who is to roast in the Flaming Fire. 163 The angels say, "Each of us has an appointed place. 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 and we are of those who glorify Allah.” 166 And indeed they used to say: 167 “If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” 168 we would surely have been God's chosen servants," 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 And certainly Our word has already gone forth in respect of Our servants, the apostles: 171 that, verily, they - they indeed - would be succoured, 172 And surely, only Our army will be victorious. 173 Therefore turn away from them for some time. 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 Then for Our punishment are they impatient? 176 But when it cometh home to them, then it will be a hapless morn for those who have been warned. 177 And leave them for a time. 178 And watch (how they fare) and they soon shall see (how thou farest)! 179 Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say. 180 So peace be on the messengers, 181 And praise belongs to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. 182
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
