1/2 Hizb 46
< random >
And remember Our slave Ayub (Job), when he invoked his Lord (saying): "Verily! Shaitan (Satan) has touched me with distress (by losing my health) and torment (by losing my wealth)! 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We bestowed on him his household and along with them the like thereof, out of mercy from us, and a remembrance unto men of understanding. 43 We told him, "Take a handful of straw. Strike your wife with it to fulfill your oath." We found him to be patient. What an excellent servant he was. He was certainly most repenting. 44 AND CALL to mind Our servants Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, [all of them] endowed with inner strength and vision: 45 We chose them for a special [purpose] -- proclaiming the message of the Hereafter: 46 Lo! in Our sight they are verily of the elect, the excellent. 47 Remember also Our servants Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhul Kifl; each is among the excellent. 48 This is a reminder. And lo! for those who ward off (evil) is a happy journey's end, 49 'Adn (Edn) Paradise (everlasting Gardens), whose doors will be open for them, [It is said (in Tafsir At-Tabari, Part 23, Page 174) that one can speak to the doors, just one tells it to open and close, and it will open or close as it is ordered]. 50 wherein they shall recline, wherein they shall ask for abundant fruit and drinks, 51 ۞ and with them maidens restraining their glances of equal age. 52 This it is what you (Al-Muttaqun - the pious) are promised for the Day of Reckoning! 53 Indeed this is Our sustenance, which will never end. 54 All this; but for the insolent awaits an ill resort, 55 Hell, where they will be roasted. An evil place to dwell! 56 This - so let them taste it - is scalding water and [foul] purulence. 57 And other Penalties of a similar kind, to match them! 58 This is a crowd rushing in along with you; no welcome for them; verily they are to roast in the Fire. 59 They say, 'No, it is you have no Welcome; you forwarded it for us; how evil a stablishment!' 60 They will say: “Our Lord, give twofold punishment in the Fire to him who has led us to this.” 61 And they say: What aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the wicked? 62 and whom we mocked? Have they been rescued or can our eyes not find them?" 63 This contending of the inmates of Hell will surely be real. 64

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
