The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the Event will come to pass 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 And the mountains shall be made to crumble with (an awful) crumbling, 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 And ye will be three kinds: 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise). 12 a host of the ancients 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 Reclining on them, facing one another. 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 which will not cause them any intoxication or illness. 19 and with fruit of any kind that they may choose, 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 like pearls preserved in their shells, 23 All this shall be theirs as a reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 (They will be) among thornless lote-trees, 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and waters gushing, 31 and fruits in abundance, 32 undiminished and never denied 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 and the noble maidens that We have created 35 So made them as maidens. 36 chastely amorous, 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
