The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
