Al-Hijjr 3 of 6
Man We fashioned from fermented clay dried tingling hard, 26 And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. 27 Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud. 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 So the angels prostrated - all of them entirely, 30 except Iblis who refused to join with the others in prostration. 31 God asked Iblis, "What made you not join the others in prostration?" 32 He said: "It does not behove of me to prostrate myself before a human being whom You have created out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud." 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense." 35 He said: My Lord! then respite me till the time when they are raised. 36 Allah said: "For sure you are granted respite 37 "Till the Day of the time appointed." 38 He said, "My Lord, since You have let me go astray. I shall make the path of error seem alluring to them on the earth and shall mislead them all, 39 except those of Your servants whom You have singled out for Yourself." 40 God said, "The path which leads to Me is a straight 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 Surely Hell is the promised place for all of them." 43 It has seven gates; for every gate is of them a portion designated." 44

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
