Al-Isra 9 of 12
Establish worship at the going down of the sun until the dark of night, and (the recital of) the Qur'an at dawn. Lo! (the recital of) the Qur'an at dawn is ever witnessed. 78 And from [part of] the night, pray with it as additional [worship] for you; it is expected that your Lord will resurrect you to a praised station. 79 Say: "O my Lord! Let my entry be by the Gate of Truth and Honour, and likewise my exit by the Gate of Truth and Honour; and grant me from Thy Presence an authority to aid (me)." 80 And say: "Truth has come and falsehood nullified." Verily falsehood is perishable. 81 We sent down of the Koran that which is a healing and a mercy to believers, but to the harmdoers it does not increase them, except in loss. 82 When We bestow a favour upon a person, he turns his back and draws aside; and when evil afflicts him he gives himself up to despair. 83 Proclaim, “Each one works according to his own pattern; and your Lord well knows him who is more upon guidance.” 84

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
