Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
And assuredly We gave grace unto Musa and Harun. 114 And saved them and their people from the great distress, 115 and succoured them, so that [in the end] it was they who achieved victory. 116 And We gave them the clear Scripture 117 and guided them the straight way, 118 And We left for the twain among the posterity: 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 Thus do We reward the good-doers. 121 Indeed they are two of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 122 Elijah too was one of the messengers. 123 Behold, he said to his people, "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 124 Do you call upon Ba'l and leave the best of creators - 125 who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?" 126 But they denounced him as a liar, so they will surely be arraigned (for punishment), 127 except the chosen servants of God. 128 And We perpetuated to him (praise) among the later generations. 129 Peace be on Ilyas. 130 Lo! thus do We reward the good. 131 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 132 Lot was also one of the messengers. 133 [and so,] when [We decreed the doom of his sinful town,] We saved him and his household, 134 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 135 Then We totally destroyed the others. 136 You pass by their desolate habitations in the morning 137 and at night. Do you still not understand? 138

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
