Whoso blinds himself to the Remembrance of the All-merciful, to him We assign a Satan for comrade; 36 and they bar them from the Way, though they themselves think that they are guided. 37 But when he comes to Us, he will say (to his satan): “Would that there had been between me and you the distance as between the East and the West. How evil a companion you were!” 38 When ye have done wrong, it will avail you nothing, that Day, that ye shall be partners in Punishment! 39 Canst thou (Muhammad) make the deaf to hear, or canst thou guide the blind or him who is in error manifest? 40 Even if We take you away, We shall take vengeance upon them, 41 or We show you a part of that which We have promised them, for indeed We have power over them. 42 So hold fast to all that has been revealed to thee: for, behold, thou art on a straight way; 43 And most surely it is a reminder for you and your people, and you shall soon be questioned. 44 Yet [above all else,] ask any of Our apostles whom We sent forth before thy time whether We have ever allowed that deities other than the Most Gracious be worshipped! 45

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
