The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the star when it descends, 1 your companion is neither astray, neither errs, 2 nor does he speak out of his desire. 3 It [the Quran] is nothing but revelation sent down to him. 4 something that a very powerful one has imparted to him, 5 One strong of make. Then he stood straight. 6 And reached the highest pinnacle. 7 Then he drew nigh and came down 8 until he was as close to him as the distance of two bows, or even less. 9 When He revealed to His votary what He revealed. 10 The (Prophet's) heart lied not (in seeing) what he (Muhammad SAW) saw. 11 What, will you dispute with him about what he sees! 12 And he certainly saw him in another descent 13 At the farthest lote-tree; 14 near which is Paradise. 15 When the tree was covered with a covering, 16 The eye turned not aside nor yet was overbold. 17 He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 Have ye thought upon Al-Lat and Al-'Uzza 19 And Manat, the third, the last? 20 Shall you have the male issues, and He the female issues? 21 That is indeed an unfair division! 22 They are nothing but some names that you have coined, you and your forefathers – Allah has not sent any proof for them; they follow only guesses and their own desires; whereas the guidance from their Lord has come to them. 23 Or shall man have whatever he fancies? 24 To Allah belong both the Next World and the present. 25
