Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 [although] none but God can unveil it.... 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And you laugh and do not weep 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
