The tribe of Thamud denied the Noble Messengers. 23 And said, "Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness. 24 Was there none but he to whom the Reminder could be vouchsafed excluding all others? Nay; he is an insolent liar.” 25 It was said to Saleh, “They will soon realise tomorrow who is the mischievous great liar.” 26 Verily, We are sending the she-camel as a test for them. So watch them [O Salih (Saleh)], and be patient! 27 Tell them that each one of them has the right to have a certain share of water". 28 But they called their companion, and he dared and hamstrung [her]. 29 So how did My punishment turn out, and My warnings? 30 We loosed against them one Cry, and they were as the wattles of a pen-builder. 31 We made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would take heed? 32 The people of Lot denied the warning. 33 We let loose on all of them a squall of claystones, except for the house of Lot whom We saved at dawn 34 As a Grace from Us: thus do We reward those who give thanks. 35 And he indeed had warned them of Our blow, but they did doubt the warnings. 36 Then they even solicited his guests from him, whereupon We blotted out their eyes, (telling them): “Now have a taste of My chastisement and My warnings.” 37 And assuredly there met them early in the morning a torment settled. 38 So taste My punishment and warning. 39 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 40
