The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And those who govern the event, 5 On the Day the blast [of the Horn] will convulse [creation], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 and their eyes will be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 [saying], "Go to Pharaoh, he has exceeded all bounds, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
