The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 when the pregnant camels shall be neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 when Hell shall be set blazing, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 So verily, I swear by the planets that recede (i.e. disappear during the day and appear during the night). 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 by the night when it approaches 17 The rising dawn, 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not mad. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 However, you will not be able to choose anything unless God, Lord of the Universe wills it to be so. 29
