Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
HaMeem. 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful Allah: 2 A Book whose verses have been detailed, an Arabic Qur'an for a people who know, 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 They say, 'Our hearts are veiled from what thou callest us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between us and thee there is a veil; so act; we are acting!' 5 Say, "I am only a human being like yourselves. It has been revealed to me that your God is One God. So take the straight path to Him and ask His forgiveness." Woe to those who associate others with Him, 6 who do not pay Zakah, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works - unto them shall be a hire unceasing. 8
