Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 and those that speed along with gentle ease, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 and in your selves; what, do you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
