Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
