The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 but when they have to measure or weigh whatever they owe to others, give less than what is due! 3 Do such people not realize that they will be raised up, 4 On a grievous day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 (It is) a marked Book. 9 Woe on that day to the rejecters, 10 who belied the Day of Recompense! 11 None belies it except every guilty sinner. 12 When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!" 13 By no means! but on their hearts is the stain of the (ill) which they do! 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 And what could make thee conceive what that mode most lofty will be? 19 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 On thrones, they shall gaze; 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 its seal will be of musk -- for this let the aspirants aspire -- 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 a spring at which those drawn close to God will drink. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 when they passed by them, they would wink at one another; 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
