Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 Faces on that Day shall be downcast, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 Many faces will be joyous on that day, 8 With their effort [they are] satisfied 9 In a high Garden 10 They shall hear therein no vain discourse; 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And cushions set in a row, 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 and how the mountains were firmly fixed? 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 So, [O Prophet] exhort them: your task is only to exhort, 21 you are not their keeper. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Verily unto Us is their return. 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
