The Galloppers (Al-Aadeyaat)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Afternoon (Al-'Asr) before Bounty (Al-Kawthar)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

By (the horses) that charge snorting, 1 by the strikers of fire, 2 And by oath of those who raid at dawn. 3 and leave behind a cloud of dust 4 and penetrate deep into a host. 5 Most surely man is ungrateful to his Lord. 6 To this he himself shall bear witness. 7 And verily in the love of wealth he is vehement, 8 ۞ Knows he not that when that which is in the tombs is over-thrown, 9 And that within the breasts is obtained, 10 On that day their Lord surely knows all about them! 11
