And indeed, [it was for this reason that] Noah cried unto Us - and how excellent was Our response: 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 and caused his offspring to endure [on earth]; 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 "Peace be upon Noah throughout all the worlds!" 79 Thus indeed do we reward those who do right. 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ Abraham was of the same faith: 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 When he said to his father and his people: "What is this you worship? 85 Do you want to worship false idols as your lords besides God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds?" 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 And said, "Indeed, I am [about to be] ill." 89 So they turned away from him, and departed. 90 Then did he turn to their gods and said, "will ye not eat (of the offerings before you)?... 91 What aileth ye that ye speak not? 92 He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 While Allah created you and that which you do?" 96 They said, "Let us build a fire and throw him into the flames". 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And he said: "I am going away to my Lord who will show me the way. 99 "O my Lord! Grant me a righteous (son)!" 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached with him [the age of] exertion, he said, "O my son, indeed I have seen in a dream that I [must] sacrifice you, so see what you think." He said, "O my father, do as you are commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, of the steadfast." 102 When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow, 103 We called out: "O Abraham, 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 That was indeed a trying test. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 and left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 108 Peace be unto Abraham! 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
