Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his effort is going to be seen - 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And Thamud - and He did not spare [them] - 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 So are you surprised at this fact? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
