The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn, 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 And uncleanliness avoid 5 Give not, thinking to gain greater 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 For when the trumpet shall sound, 8 that shall be a Harsh Day 9 For the infidels, not easy. 10 Leave him to Me whom I created alone, 11 And to whom I granted extensive wealth 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 And who yet coveteth that shall increase. 15 Nay! He is forward unto Our signs; 16 Soon I shall mount him on Saood, the hill of fire. 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 Ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 He then dared to lift his gaze. 21 then frowned and scowled; 22 and he turned his back and behaved arrogantly 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 Him shall I fling unto the burning. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It does not allow anyone to live, and neither does it leave anyone to die; 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell). 30 We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire, and their number have We made to be a stumbling-block for those who disbelieve; that those to whom the Scripture hath been given may have certainty, and that believers may increase in faith; and that those to whom the Scripture hath been given and believers may not doubt; and that those in whose hearts there is disease, and disbelievers, may say: What meaneth Allah by this similitude? Thus Allah sendeth astray whom He will, and whom He will He guideth. None knoweth the hosts of thy Lord save Him. This is naught else than a Reminder unto mortals. 31
