The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 For, this fellow-man of yours is not a madman: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 When whither go ye? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
