The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 Proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
