The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When there happeneth the Event. 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 Abasing (some), exalting (others); 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 Then (there will be) the Companions of the Right Hand;- What will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 A multitude of those of old 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 On studded thrones. 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication: 19 And fruit of what they select 20 And flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes,- 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 shall be their recompense for their deeds. 24 Therein they hear no vain or sinful discourse. 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 [They will be] among lote trees with thorns removed 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and outpoured waters, 31 And fruit in plenty 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And carpets raised. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For those on the right hand; 38
