Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
