He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ HE FROWNED and turned away 1 Because the blind man had come in his august presence. 2 But what could tell thee but that perchance he might grow (in spiritual understanding)?- 3 Or take heed and so the reminder might avail him? 4 Yet you pay attention 5 You pay full attention, 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 As for him who comes to you striving (after goodness), 8 and who has fear of God, 9 you pay no heed to him. 10 Indeed, this [Quran] is an admonition. 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 It is set down on honoured pages, 13 Exalted (in dignity), purified, 14 [borne] by the hands of messengers 15 noble and pious. 16 Perish Man! How unthankful he is! 17 Of what thing hath He created him? 18 Of a drop of seed. He created him and formed him according to a measure. 19 and then made the course of life easy for him, 20 and in the end He causes him to die and brings him to the grave; 21 Then when He wills, He will resurrect him. 22 By no means hath he fulfilled what Allah hath commanded him. 23 Then let man look to his food, 24 We poured down rain abundantly, 25 Then We cleave the earth, cleaving (it) asunder, 26 Then We cause therein the grain to grow, 27 And grapes and fodder, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 And fruits and fodder,- 31 Provision for you and your cattle. 32 So when the deafening Shout arrives, 33 On the Day whereon a man shall flee from his brother, 34 and his mother and his father; 35 his wife and his sons: 36 For every one of them on that Day shall be business enough to occupy 37 on that Day some faces will be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news; 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 Darkness shall cover them. 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
