Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
HAS NEWS OF the Overpowering Event reached you? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Labouring (hard), weary,- 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 Drinking from a boiling spring, 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. 7 (Whereas other) faces on that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 In a high Garden 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 [and] there will be thrones [of happiness] raised high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 And cushions lined up 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Remind them, for thou art but a remembrancer, 21 You are not a dictator over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 So Allah will mete out to him the greatest punishment. 24 To Us they will all return. 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
