Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O you wrapped in garments (i.e. Prophet Muhammad SAW)! 1 Stand up for worship during the night, except for some part of it. 2 of one-half thereof - or make it a little less than that, 3 or a little more; and with recitation, recite the Koran. 4 For We are about to send down to you a message of considerable gravity. 5 surely the first part of the night is heavier in tread, more upright in speech, 6 Indeed you have a lot of matters during the day. 7 But recite the name of your Lord withdrawing yourself from everything, devoting yourself exclusively to Him. 8 Lord of the East and the West; there is no Allah save Him; so choose thou Him alone for thy defender - 9 And bear thou patiently what they say, and forsake them graciously. 10 And let Me alone with the beliers, owners of ease: and respite thou them a little. 11 We have fetters (for them) and a blazing fire, 12 And food that chokes and a painful punishment - 13 upon the day when the earth and the mountains shall quake and the mountains become a slipping heap of sand. 14 Verily We! We have sent unto you an apostle, a witness over you, even as We sent unto Fir'awn an apostle. 15 Pharaoh disobeyed Our Messenger, so We seized him remorselessly. 16 Then how, if ye disbelieve, will ye protect yourselves upon the day which will turn children grey, 17 The heavens itself will be rent asunder (on that day). His promise is bound to be fulfilled. 18 Lo! This is a Reminder. Let him who will, then, choose a way unto his Lord. 19
