Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Sky is cleft asunder; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and when the seas burst beyond their bounds, 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 The One Who created you, then moulded you, then made you proper? 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 Nay, but ye deny the Judgment. 9 Yet over you there are watchers, 10 The honourable recorders. 11 who know what you do. 12 the virtuous will dwell in bliss, 13 And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire. 14 They will burn therein on the Day of Judgment, 15 and which they shall not [be able to] evade. 16 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Day of Judgment is! 17 Again, what do you know what the Day of Recompense is? 18 It will be a Day when no human being shall be of the least avail to any other human being, God [alone] will hold command on that Day. 19
