The Cave (Al-Kahf)
110 verses, revealed in Mecca after Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah) before The Bee (Al-nahl)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
All praise unto Allah who hath sent down unto His bondman the Book, and hath not placed therein any crookedness. 1 (But hath made it) straight, to give warning of stern punishment from Him, and to bring unto the believers who do good works the news that theirs will be a fair reward, 2 In which they will remain forever 3 And to warn those who say: Allah hath chosen a son, 4 (A thing) whereof they have no knowledge, nor (had) their fathers, Dreadful is the word that cometh out of their mouths. They speak naught but a lie. 5 Possibly you may risk your life by grieving (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) for them if they do not believe in this narration. 6 We have caused earthly things to seem attractive so that We can see who will excel in good deeds. 7 and, verily, [in time] We shall reduce all that is on it to barren dust! 8 Or, do you think the companions of the Cave and the tomb stone were a wonder among Our signs? 9 When the youths took refuge in the Cave saying, 'Our lord, give us mercy from Thee, and furnish us with rectitude in our affair.' 10 We lulled them to sleep in that cave for a number of years 11 Then We awakened them that We might show which of the two factions was most precise in calculating what [extent] they had remained in time. 12

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
