Tell them the story of Abraham, 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They said: "We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted." 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They answered: "No; but we found our forefathers doing so." 74 He said: "Do ye then see whom ye have been worshipping,- 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 Verily they are an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the worlds. 77 Who created me and Who guides me; 78 and is the One who gives me to eat and to drink, 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 “And He will give me death, then resurrect me.” 81 and He who will, I hope, forgive me my faults on the Day of the Judgement. 82 O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous, 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 Unless it be he, who shall bring unto Allah a whole heart, 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 And all the armies of Iblis. (Satan) 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 No one but the sinners led us astray. 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 But if we could but once return, we would be of the believers. 102 There is certainly a sign in that, but most of them would not believe: 103 Your Lord is certainly Majestic and All-merciful. 104
