And remember Our servant Job: when he cried to his Lord: “Behold, Satan has afflicted me with much hardship and suffering.” 41 [So he was told], "Strike [the ground] with your foot; this is a [spring for] a cool bath and drink." 42 And We gave him (back) his people, and doubled their number,- as a Grace from Ourselves, and a thing for commemoration, for all who have Understanding. 43 And (it was said unto him): Take in thine hand a branch and smite therewith, and break not thine oath. Lo! We found him steadfast, how excellent a slave! Lo! he was ever turning in repentance (to his Lord). 44 And remember Our servants, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - those of strength and [religious] vision. 45 We distinguished them for the distinct remembrance of the abode (of the Hereafter). 46 In Our sight they are among the chosen and excellent ones. 47 Also, remember our worshipers Ishmael, Elisha, and ThulKifl, they are among the good. 48 Such is their noble story. The pious ones will certainly have the best place to return. 49 They will enter gardens of Eden with their gates open for them. 50 Wherein, reclining, they call for plenteous fruit and cool drink (that is) therein. 51 ۞ having beside them well-matched mates of modest gaze." 52 This is the promise being given to you, for the Day of Reckoning. 53 this is Our unending provision' 54 All of this; but, for the proud there is an ill return. 55 Gehenna, wherein they are roasted - an evil cradling! 56 all this will be theirs; let them taste it -- a scalding, dark, foul fluid, 57 and other such torments. 58 (We shall say to their leaders): 'This is a troop rushing in with you, there is no welcome for them, they shall roast in the Fire' 59 They will say, "Nor you! No welcome for you. You, [our leaders], brought this upon us, and wretched is the settlement." 60 They will say: our Lord! whosever hath brought this upon us, unto him increase doubly the torment of the Fire. 61 And they will Say: what aileth us that we behold not men whom we were wont to count among the evil ones? 62 “Did we mock at them or did our eyes turn away from them?” 63 Verily all this is true. This is how the inmates of the Fire will dispute among themselves. 64
