I say the truth, and call the moon to witness, 32 By the receding night 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 Warn the men. 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 about the sinners. 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will say, "We were not of those who prayed, 43 And did not feed the needy, 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 What is the matter with people that they are turning away from this Exhortation, 49 like startled wild donkeys 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So, whoever wills, will remember it. 55 And they will not receive admonition unless Allah wills; He (Allah) is the One, deserving that mankind should be afraid of, and should be dutiful to Him, and should not take any Ilah (God) along with Him, and He is the One Who forgives (sins). 56
