Is it not an indication to those who inherit the land after its people (who thus reaped the consequence of evil-doing) that, if We will, We can smite them for their sins and print upon their hearts so that they hear not? 100 We have told you the stories of those towns: their messengers came to them with clear signs, but they were never going to believe in something they had already rejected. Thus God seals up the hearts of those who deny the truth. 101 And We did not find for most of them any covenant; but indeed, We found most of them defiantly disobedient. 102 Then We sent after them Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, but they were unjust toward them. So see how was the end of the corrupters. 103 And Musa said: O Firon! surely I am an apostle from the Lord of the worlds: 104 "I am duty bound to speak nothing of God but the truth I have brought from your Lord a clear sign; so let the people of Israel depart with me." 105 Said Firaun, “If you have come with a sign, then present it if you are truthful!” 106 He threw down his staff, and it was clearly a serpent. 107 Then he drew out his hand and it was luminous to the onlookers. 108
