Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 and the partitioners, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 Certainly, you have different ideas (about Muhammad SAW and the Quran). 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 It will be on the day when they will be roasted in the fire. 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
