▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
No, by the moon! 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 concerning the sinners, 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
