[Allah said], "O messengers, eat from the good foods and work righteousness. Indeed, I, of what you do, am Knowing. 51 And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me." 52 But they (mankind) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its tenets. 53 So leave them immersed in their heedlessness till an appointed time. 54 Do they think that We are helping them by giving them children and property? 55 We are busy lavishing on them all kinds of good? Nay, they do not perceive the reality of the matter. 56 Those who tremble in fear of their Lord, 57 And they who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, 59 and those who give to others what has been bestowed upon them with their hearts trembling at the thought that they must return to their Lord; 60 It is these who race for the good deeds, and they are foremost in them [e.g. offering the compulsory Salat (prayers) in their (early) stated, fixed times and so on]. 61 On no soul do We place a burden greater than it can bear: before Us is a record which clearly shows the truth: they will never be wronged. 62 Nay, their hearts are in overwhelming ignorance with respect to it and they have besides this other deeds which they do. 63 Till when We grasp their luxurious ones with the punishment, behold! they supplicate. 64 Do not cry out today. Indeed, by Us you will not be helped. 65 Time and again were My messages conveyed unto you, but [every time] you would turn about on your heels 66 “Priding yourself in serving the Sacred Mosque; at night you utter indecent stories in it, while discarding the truth.” 67 Should they not think upon the saying? Or, did anything come upon them that had not come upon their ancient forefathers? 68 Or did they not recognise their apostle, and rejected him? 69 or you said that he is possessed by satan? In fact, he has brought you the truth, but most of you dislike it. 70 But if the truth were in accord with their own likes and dislikes, the heavens and the earth would surely have fallen into ruin, and all that lives in them [would long ago have perished]! Nay, [in this divine writ] We have conveyed unto them all that they ought to bear in mind: and from this their reminder they [heedlessly] turn away! 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 And most surely you invite them to a right way. 73 And verily, those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed deviating far astray from the Path (true religion Islamic Monotheism). 74 ۞ And even were We to show them mercy and remove whatever distress might befall them [in this life,] they would still persist in their overweening arrogance, blindly stumbling to and fro. 75 We already seized them with the chastisement, yet they abased not themselves to their Lord nor were they humble; 76 until We opened upon them the door of a severe chastisement. Then lo, in this state they become utterly despaired of any good. 77
