The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 Shu'ayb said to them, "Will you not fear God? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 180 ۞ "Give full measure, and cause no loss (to others). 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 and do not defraud people in their property or spread evil in the land. 183 but be conscious of Him who has created you, just as [He created] those countless generations of old!" 184 They said, 'Thou art merely one of those that are bewitched; 185 And thou art but a human being like unto us, and we deem thee to be of the liars. 186 Let a part of the sky fall on us if what you say is true". 187 He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do." 188 They rejected him and then the torment of the gloomy day struck them. It was certainly a great torment. 189 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
