Do you not see that We have set the devils against the infidels to rouse and instigate them? 83 Therefore, do not hasten (things) against them, for We count out to them a number, 84 On the day when We shall gather the righteous unto the Beneficent, a goodly company. 85 And drive the guilty towards hell, thirsty. 86 They shall not control intercession, save he who has made a covenant with the Beneficent Allah. 87 And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Iesa (Christ)], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]." 88 Surely, you have brought a monstrous thing! 89 Thereby the heavens are nearly torn and the earth split asunder, and mountains fall crashing down 90 to ascribe a son to the Beneficent God. 91 It is not for the Merciful to take a son! 92 There is none in the heavens and the earth but cometh unto the Beneficent as a slave. 93 Certainly He has a comprehensive knowledge of them and He has numbered them a (comprehensive) numbering. 94 and each one shall come to Him on the Day of Resurrection, alone. 95 Verily those who believe and do righteous works - anon the Compassionate shall appoint for them affection. 96 So have We made the (Qur'an) easy in thine own tongue, that with it thou mayest give Glad Tidings to the righteous, and warnings to people given to contention. 97 And how many a generation have We destroyed before them! Perceivest thou of them anyone or hear of them a whisper? 98
