Nay, by the Moon 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 a warning to humankind, 36 alike to every one of you, who want to go forward or hang back. 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 Till death overtook us. 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 as if they were startled asses 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
