AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 So the scream overcame them at morning. 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Surely your Lord is the All Knowing Creator! 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 Those who have made the scripture bits. 91 By your Lord We shall question them one and all 92 About what they used to do. 93 So shout that thou art commanded and turn thou away from the idolaters. 94 Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers 95 those who set up another deity alongside Allah. They shall soon come to know. 96 And surely We know that your breast straitens at what they say; 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 And keep worshipping your Lord, till death* comes to you. (* The certainty.) 99
