And lo! it is a revelation of the Lord of the Worlds, 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayest be of the warners, 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel? 197 And had We sent it down upon a person other than an Arab, 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused this (Admonition) to penetrate the hearts of the culprits (like a hot rod). 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then they will exclaim, "Could we have some respite?" 203 Would they then wish for Our Torment to be hastened on? 204 Hast thou then seen, if We content them for (long) years, 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 And never did We destroy a township, but it had its warners 208 To warn. For We are never unjust. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 Neither would it suit them, nor they can (produce it). 211 Indeed they are debarred from even hearing it. 212 So call thou not upon another god with God, lest thou shouldst be one of those that are chastised. 213 Warn your nearest kinsmen, 214 And spread your wing of mercy for the believers following you. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 And put your trust in Him Who is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up (to pray) 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 for, verily, He alone is all-hearing, all-knowing! 220 Shall I inform you, (O people!), on whom it is that the evil ones descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 Do you not see that they wander about bewildered in every valley? 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
