The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Woe to every backbiter, slanderer 1 who amasses wealth and counts it over and again. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him immortal. 3 Nay, he shall be thrown into the Crusher. 4 And what will make you realize what the crushing disaster is? 5 It is the fire kindled by Allah, 6 Reaching right into the hearts of men, 7 Verily it will close in upon them, 8 In extending columns. 9
