A token unto them is the dead earth. We revive it, and We bring forth from it grain so that they eat thereof; 33 And We make therein gardens of palms and grapevines and We make springs to flow forth in it, 34 that they might eat of its fruits and their hands' labour. What, will they not be thankful? 35 Glory be to Him Who created pairs of all things, of what the earth grows, and of their kind and of what they do not know. 36 And there is a sign in the night for them. We strip off the day from it and they are left in darkness, 37 The sun, too, follows its determined course laid down for it by the Almighty, the All Knowing. 38 And the moon, We have determined it in phases till it returns like an old palmbranch. 39 It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming. 40 And a Sign for them is that We bore their race (through the Flood) in the loaded Ark; 41 And We have created for them the like of it, what they will ride on. 42 Had We wanted, We could have drowned them and nothing would have been able to help or rescue them 43 It is only by Our mercy that they are granted provision for a time. 44 Whenever they are told to guard themselves against sin and the forth coming torment so that perhaps they could receive mercy 45 Never came a token of the tokens of their Lord to them, but they did turn away from it! 46 And when it is said unto them: expend of that wherewith Allah hath provided you, those who disbelieve say unto those who believe: shall we feed those whom God Himself would have fed, if He listed? Ye are in naught else than error manifest. 47 They say, "When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?" 48 They await but one Shout, which will seize them while they dispute. 49 They will have no time to make a will, nor shall they return to their own people. 50
