Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 A Revelation from (Allah), Most Gracious, Most Merciful;- 2 A Book whose verses have been detailed, an Arabic Qur'an for a people who know, 3 Giving glad tidings and heralding warning; so most of them turned away, therefore they cannot listen (to the truth). 4 And they say, "Our hearts are encased against that to which you call us, and there is a heaviness in our ears, and there is a barrier between us, so do as you will and so shall we." 5 Tell them, (O Prophet): “I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is One God; so direct yourselves straight to Him, and seek His forgiveness. Woe to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity, 6 who do not pay zakat and have no faith in the life to come. 7 Lo! as for those who believe and do good works, for them is a reward enduring. 8
