and We delivered the Children of Israel from the humbling chastisement, 30 From Fir'aun (Pharaoh); Verily! He was arrogant and was of the Musrifun (those who transgress beyond bound in spending and other things and commit great sins). 31 And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds. 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Indeed these people say: 34 "There is nothing but our first death, and we shall not be resurrected. 35 “Therefore bring back our forefathers, if you are truthful!” 36 Are these better or the people of Tubba and those who went before them? We destroyed them for they were a criminal people. 37 For [thus it is:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in mere idle play: 38 We created them not save with truth; but most of them know not. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42
