(Muhammad), remind them, by the Grace of your Lord, that you are neither a soothsayer or an insane person. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 Say, "Wait, I too am waiting with you". 31 Is this what their senses tell them, or are they a rebellious people? 32 Do they say: “He has himself fabricated the Qur'an?” No; the truth is that they are altogether averse to believing. 33 Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. 34 [Or do they deny the existence of God?] Have they themselves been created without anything [that might have caused their creation]? or were they, perchance, their own creators? 35 Or, did they create the heavens and the earth? No, their belief is not certain! 36 Or, are the treasures of your Lord in their keeping? Or, are they the controllers? 37 Or have they any stairway (unto heaven) by means of which they overhear (decrees). Then let their listener produce some warrant manifest! 38 Or has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Do you (Muhammad) ask them for any payment (for your preaching) which they cannot afford? 40 Or is it that they have access to (the Truths in) the realm beyond sense-perception which they are writing down? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against you O Muhammad SAW)? But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) are themselves in a plot! 42 Or do they have a god apart from God? He is too exalted for what they associate with Him! 43 And if they should see a portion of the heaven coming down, they would say: Piled up clouds. 44 Therefore leave them, until they confront their day, in which they will be stunned. 45 A Day whereon their plotting will avail them not at all, nor will they be succoured. 46 And there surely awaits the evildoers a chastisement beyond even that, but most of them know it not. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad) for thy Lord's decree, for surely thou art in Our sight; and hymn the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest, 48 and exalt Him in the night and at the declining of the stars. 49
