Al-A 'araaf 12 of 24

And We sent no prophet unto any township but We did afflict its folk with tribulation and adversity that haply they might grow humble. 94 Then We changed the evil for the good, until they increased in number and in wealth, and said: "Our fathers were touched with evil (loss of health and calamities) and with good (prosperity, etc.)." So We seized them of a sudden while they were unaware. 95 If the people of the towns had but believed and feared Allah, We should indeed have opened out to them (All kinds of) blessings from heaven and earth; but they rejected (the truth), and We brought them to book for their misdeeds. 96 Do the people of those towns feel secure that Our punishment will not come to them at night while they are asleep? 97 Or, are the people of the townships secure that Our wrath would not come upon them by daylight while they are disporting themselves? 98 Are they then secure from Allah's scheme? None deemeth himself secure from Allah's scheme save folk that perish. 99
