The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 "Verily! I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 leaving your wives that your Lord created for you? Nay, but you are a people of transgressors. 166 They said: If you desist not, O Lut! you shall surely be of those who are expelled. 167 He said: Surely I am of those who utterly abhor your doing; 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 save an old woman among those that tarried; 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
